SKETCH DUMP Vuosien varrella mulle on kertynyt koko kasa erilaisia luonnoksia ja harjoitelmia milloin mistäkin. Ajattelin julkaista muutaman kokoelman. Along the years I've made quite a lot of sketches and practice works from different places. I thought I'd share a few collections. These ones are from back when I was studying and I had free entrance to the National History Museum in Helsinki. I sometimes went there just to draw. These are pretty old, dating back to 2013 and 2014. And yes, I've drawn that moose calf several times. 20 LLAMAS Juu, elikkä eräänlainen piirustushaaste taas. Siinä voi valita ihan minkä tahansa aiheen - ja vain piirtää sitä eri tavoin kerta toisensa jälkeen. Ensin ihan vain mitä tulee ensimmäisenä mieleen, ja sitten saa käyttää mallikuvia tai olla käyttämättä. Materiaalit saa valita itse. Kun on useita kertoja piirtänyt saman asian, alkaa oikeasti piirtää sitä uusilla tavoilla, kun ei enää jaksa piirtää samaa uudestaan ja uudestaan. 20 laamaa ei ehkä kuulosta paljolta, mutta kyllä se on. Alkuperäinen kuva on A3. Yeah, so a kind of a drawing challenge again. You can pick whatever topic you like - and then just draw it over and over again. First off just what comes to mind, and then you can use references if you like, or leave them out. You can choose what materials you use. When you've drawn the same thing several times you really start drawing it in new ways as you don't want to draw the same thing again and again. 20 llamas may not sound like it's that many but it is. A DIFFICULT GULL Töitteni takia jouduin piirtämään ihmisiä eläiminä, ja harjoitellessa kyseistä hommaa varten jouduin kuvittelemaan ihmiset, joita piirsin, toisin kuin tositilanteessa, jossa ihminen oli oikeasti paikalla. Kuvittelin muiden muassa yläasteikäisen pojan, jonka mielestä tämä koko juttu on aivan naurettava ja joka antaa minun myös kuulla siitä... Hänestä tuli naurulokki, joka ei ollut ehkä ihan sellainen, että halusin laittaa sen pomoille näytille. Mutta itse pidin siitä, joten laitan sen tänne. Piirsin tämän myös vasemmalla kädellä ihan huvin vuoksi. At my work I got to draw people as animals. When practicing for this I had to imagine the people I was drawing unlike in the real situation when the person was actually there. Among others I imagined a middle-school boy who thinks this is all so dumb and lets me know it, too... He became a black-headed gull, and the art work wasn't really something I wanted to show my bosses. But I like it so you can see it here. I also drew this with my left hand for the fun of it.

THE BUNNY PARADOX Kaneja ja jäniksiä pidetään perinteisesti arkoina ja pelokkaina olentoina. Siksi varmaan kirjailijat ja elokuvantekijät yrittävät murtaa tämän kliseen ja antaa meille kovanaamapupuja. AI-TOBER, PART 1 Eevee lähetti minulle linkin tekoälyn luomaan eläinaiheiseen Inktober-vinkkisanojen listaan. She is, like Kaminoans tend to be, very calm and thoughtful, and all in all a wise and good young Jedi (we can determine that these two Jedi lived long before the happenings in The Attack of the Clones when no one knew anything about the Kaminoans anymore). My character is a young Wookie called Valrroak (Val to her friends). She is verbally very talented, a good writer and loves poetry but as a Wookie she is unable to speak the galactic common. Therefore, many don't understand Val or mistake her for a uncivilized animal which greatly annoys Val. Luckily Taan has learned to understand the Wookie's language and thus earned Val's friendship. THE WHITE STREAMS Kaksi vuotta sitten meillä oli leirillä ohjelmassa karttojen piirtämistä, joten aloin huvikseni piirtää tällaista fantasiakarttaa. Se jäi silloin kesken, mutta nyt sain viimein aikaiseksi piirtää sen loppuun. Two years ago we had some map drawing programme on a cam p so I started drawing this random fantasy map. I didn't finish it then but finally did. Omasta mielestäni tästä kartasta puuttuu jotenkin sellainen yhdistävä ajatus, että mistä tässä on kyse, vaikka ihan hyviä nimiä löytyykin, eikä kartta sinällään huono ole. Parasta koko jutussa on mielestäni se, mistä se sai alkunsa: näin kerran unta, jossa jollain oli vaakunakilpi, johon oli vihreälle pohjalle kuvattu kaksi valkoista aaltoraitaa - maa, jota halkoo kaksi valkoista jokea. I think that this map somehow lacks a combining idea, like what this is all about, even though there are good names and the map itself isn't bad. The best thing about this is how it all started: I had a dream that someone had a coat of arms where there were two wavy, white stripes on a green shield - a country with two white rivers flowing through it. That's why I added a coat of arms on this map. Maybe I'll use this idea somewhere else at some point, I quite like it.

This comic is based on a silly Batman song that kids used to sing when I was little, and I hope they still do. However, I don't think it translates very well so I didn't even try.
