I visited Oslo Comics Expo and sold my comic Koli with my friend Li Xin . During the festival we entertained ourselves with drawing a comic on the table cloth. Here's the comic, turned to black and white for easier reading. We started the comic from the center of the table with the two characters going through a portal to explain the change in drawing style. I drew from the center to the end and Xin drew from the center to the start, drawing backwards in the storyline. It was fun. Click the images to view them in a larger size.

Closed on Mondays. You can see the other side only by chance. Nina Mutik’s exhibition Servants of The Forest is based on folklore and old myths from the lake Pielinen area in East-Finland. The primeval forest is foreign and unreachable to humans. It is the other side. The power of the forest can not be controlled or understood. Nina Mutik's exhibition tries to show us glimpses of the heart of the forest, the other. In the paintings that are printed on wood the servants of the forest, the blue maidens, don't notice the observer. Mutik's exhibition creates a unique atmosphere to the viewer. A nude woman is common imagery in fine arts, but not in the way Mutik presents it. The servants of the forest don't know that they are being watched. The power of the forest poses for no one. Come and take a peek at the other side.

Karsikko: Suomessa tavattiin ennen tehdä merkkipäivien ja vainajien muistoksi karsikkopuita leikkaamalla osa puun oksia pois, niin että karsikko oli selvästi merkitty. Tartsu and The Christmas Tree: - Would you assemble the Christmas tree? // - Weren't you supposed to do this? // - I did. It's a Christmas karsikko. Karsikko: It was an old custom in Finland to mark trees for special events and for the dead by cutting of most of their branches. These marked trees were called karsikko.
