I don't know if he's he. | Becouse I don't really recognize him. | And then I end up smiling this stupid smile and run away. | It would be nice to know him. | Or atleast to know if I can say hi to him. I've heard he's a nice guy. Tein tämän Päivälehden museolle Tulevaisuuden sanomalehti -näyttelyyn. Näyttely esillä 28.2.2010 asti. I did this comic for a local museum, Päivälehden museo , to include to a exhibition about the newspaper of the future. Asteroid 13042036 part 72 | "Jaakko" | It came from there | It had been there for a while, but I wasn't scared of it. | But then suddenly it started to get bigger really fast... The air was hot and the sky red. | Everyone was just looking at it. Nobody moved. | Then the ground started to shake. | We went into a panic | It felt like it lasted forever. | Then suddenly everything went quiet. | It was just dark. | It took us a while to realize we where alive.| I do feel a bit silly now. | That we actually run under the table! | I never really belived that "asteroid judgment day" talk. | But I just couldn't think streight. | I was so sure that I was a goner | It makes you think... all kinds of stuff. | Own life and the universe and stuff like that. 13th of April 2036 an Asteroid will pass by our planet. Some say it will crash to earth. Asteroid 13042036 is a series of reportages that tells about the common people's reaction to the asteroid and how the asteroid affects our normal lifes before and (hopefully) after the pass by. Asteroid 13042036 is an example how in the future, comics are used also as a tool to tell current news and not just as a comic relief in the newspapers .

This is my comic. | This is my style. | And although my style is always changing... | ...It's still always mine. | Because if it woudn't change.. | ...And just would stay as it is... | ...Then it would stop being mine. | Because I'm also changing all the time. | And it's not something I should be sad about or that I should fear. | I just have to let go | And do and try. | And that's exactly what we do in my course. I'm teaching comics again in Comics Centre of Helsinki next spring, and this comic is kind of a teaser for that.

Have you ever heard about... | The cannibal of Angoulême? | Oh you haven't?! | Well then, you'll definately want to hear it! | It's a wild story! I bet you haven't heard wilder story that that! | I know all kinds of stuff has happened here before... | ...All kinds of stuff. | But nothing as wild as that | It was a scary thing | But luckily I'm here | Protecting people, you know |m-hm. So the story goes like this... |...Some time ago... | The streets of Angoulême where not so safe. | Because in the shadows lurked... | ...Danger. If you where walking at night | alone | here in the dark streets. And if you where not careful | you might find youself in trouble | ...when...| The cannibal of Angoulême attacks! It's true as it can be. | It wasn't safe then | Although I was here | because, you see, the thing is | I was new here back then. I was a small puppy back then | Blue eyed also I guess | I couldn't expect anything like that | something as sick as that! | To kill and eat people!! |pfff. The victimes where always missing something. | A leg | an ear | or a hand | Yes yes, it's all true! | I heard some guy was missing his head! And no-one found any of those parts. | it had clearly eaten them! | But guess what... | Not only the parts where missing... | But the cannibal.. | They never found it! Oh you don't belive me? | Why don't you? | It's a true stroy!! | You can't just make up stuff like this. Oh, why it wasn't on the news? | well. you see... | The thing is...| That... | the police where hiding information!! | They didn't wan't everyone to know they couldnt catch ti! | They where ashamed. It was a scary guy | No one really knew what it looked alike. | And they said it was often in disguise. They said it even dressed up as a old lady! | There was some suspisions who it could have been | They said it was a neighbour or a uncle of someone | But those where just gossips. Last time that we heard about it... | ...It was some time ago. | You see, back then, I was quite a small puppy. | And a brand new here. | I know, you woudn't believe I've been a puppy once! | Har har har. But yea... | I had heard about it. | The pegions had told some gossip about it | But they didn't know about it much | so I decided to find out | I thought that I'm not going to let that kind of thing run around. So I was walking on the street | and then I heard | Somebody was screaming! And there it was!! | I was sooo scare | you have no idea how much! But then I attacked! | There was a huge fight!! | And I bit it and I snarled. And then it just run away | And no one saw it after that. | And that's why they made me the sherif of this town! | That's right. What'ya mean you don't beleave me? I even got this scar from it. | This one right here! | You don't see it? | It's a bit hidden | but I got it from it alright. | yep. Yeash Hey where are you going? | Wait up! | I have one other story also! | it's even wilder! | Hey wait up, really!

Sometimes I wish... That everything would just STOP. | Just for a second. So that I could have time to just BE. So that I would have time to breath. Really breath. | Just for a second.

What should we do? | Let's play winter sleep | How do you play that? | I think we've played this before. Note: I KNOW "talviuni" is translated "hibernation", but there's no poetic aspect in that word... the straight translation of talviuni is "winter sleep"

I made this for Boomfest comic festival in St. Petersburg . Old one again. There was a story developing there, but I haven't had time to follow it.

This one was maybe my favorit. Today... | It's not me who's talking | Can people be any more idiotic? | You better move out of my way! | I don't care about anything you say | I apologize it's behavior | Get a real job hippie! |I do not know where it comes from! | I might encourage it a bit sometimes | What an idiot! | hihi...
